Course planning evening at DSS for parents of current grades 8 - 11 on Thursday, Feb. 7th at 7:00 p.m. Please see attachment for details.
Listen up Grads of 2013! The first grad event of the school year will be the Grad Cruise, which is on Tuesday, September 25th. Tickets are $70.00 each (includes HST and gratuities) and will go on sale from September 19-21 in the East Gym at lunch. Cash and cheques are accepted. Please make cheques payable to Delta Secondary School. You may not switch your tickets as they correspond to which bus you board.
Keep in mind that $70.00 isn't a lot when compared to the $95.00 that SDSS grads had to pay last year. The cost of the ticket includes coach bus transportation to and from downtown Vancouver, dinner, non-alcoholic drinks, DJ, and security. The number of tickets are limited!
Grad Cruise participants are to meet in the cafeteria at 4:00 pm. The event will last until 10:00 pm. Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited.
Visit the Facebook event page here for more details.
This is a friendly reminder that school photos will be taken this Thursday, September 13, 2012. All students will have their picture taken for Go cards and the yearbook. Students who wish to purchase a photo package are reminded to bring their completed form with payment and give it to the photographer when they get their picture taken.
The scheduled opening assemblies for Tuesday, September 11, 2012, have now been re-scheduled to the following week.
Grade 8 students and their parents are invited to an informal orientation evening on Thursday, August 30th, at 7:00 pm in the Genesis Theatre.
There will be a short information session followed by a question period and then some time to tour the school. The administration, representatives from the PAC and some senior students will be present to give information, directions and answer questions.

On Friday, May 11th we will dismiss classes at 12:02 to facilitate the preparations and set up for our grad celebration, more specifically the Grad Walk, which will take place at the school later that afternoon.
A tremendous amount of parent and community effort and planning goes into making this event happen and the early dismissal will help to ensure that the event is safe, orderly and can occur with minimal disruption.
